When they're gone, they're gone.

The more oil palm plantations that wipe out the Sumatran forest, the more orangutans are left homeless. Orangutan soap might have a limited run, but things are much more serious for the real deal. Right now, there are only 14,600 Sumatran orangutans left in the wild.

There’s more to this soap than a brightening zing of Brazilian orange oil and earthy patchouli. Behind the palm-free soap base of extra virgin coconut oil and a solidifying mix, there lies a fight to give the forest back to Sumatran orangutans.

Last year, enough money was raised through the #SOSsumatra campaign for The Sumatran Orangutan Society (SOS) to buy 50 hectares of ex-palm plantation and turn it back into natural forest. But there’s still more to do.

Every cent from Orangutan soap (apart from GST) will go to SOS, so it can buy another piece of 50 hectare forest for orangutans, and together with its partners on the ground, The Orangutan Information Centre, rebuild the home humans have taken.

Buying this soap will not save the planet. But a revolution has to start somewhere.
